Environmental & Social  Governance

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. It is a framework used to evaluate and measure the sustainability and ethical impact of a company or investment. Each component represents a different aspect

What does ESG stand for?

Environmental (E): This refers to the company's impact on the natural environment. It includes factors like carbon emissions, resource conservation, pollution, and climate change. Companies with strong environmental performance may have initiatives related to renewable energy, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing.

Social (S): This focuses on a company's relationships with its employees, customers, communities, and other stakeholders. It encompasses issues like labor practices, human rights, diversity and inclusion, and community engagement. Companies with strong social performance often have policies promoting fair treatment, diversity, and community involvement.

Governance (G): Governance relates to how a company is managed and overseen. It includes aspects like board structure, executive compensation, shareholder rights, and transparency. Companies with strong governance practices tend to have clear, accountable leadership, ethical decision-making processes, and effective oversight.

Our Shared Vision

At the heart of this collaboration lies a shared vision:

Empowering Communities:

Together, we aspire to empower our local communities by supporting initiatives that enhance education, healthcare, and socio-economic well-being.

Fostering Innovation:

We believe in the power of innovation to drive progress. By combining our resources and expertise, we aim to create an environment that nurtures creativity and entrepreneurship.

Sustainable Healthcare:

The Isle of Man is known for its love of sport and stunning natural beauty.  As island residents lots of us also enjoy sport, which serves a good form of physical fitness, but more than this is also helps us with our mental health issues too.  Those of us who live on the island year round are prone to all the illnesses experienced on the mainland and indeed worldwide. We already have a great Healthcare service available to all residents, but we cannot take it for granted and must continue to find ways to improve, adapt, build and grow our healthcare and in particular our Mental Health Service.

ManxPACT as a community group is asking some awkward questions right now...the biggest is...Is it fit for purpose? (OR) How can we improve our Mental Healthcare Services?

If you have an opinion?  Then get in touch and bring us up to speed on your thoughts and feelings and be a voice to help us sustain and expand our Mental Health Services.

Key Initiatives

Awareness Programmes:

We are offering FREE online educational courses to all island residents, especially those suffering with Mental Health Issues, as we hope these will be multifunctional in terms of education to make sufferers more aware and help them better understand the background and perhaps aid in them being able to manger their illness more effectively?   In addition, one of the big difficulties experienced by a great number of sufferers is that they live a lot in their own head and perhaps these courses may also help to fill their time and distract them from their issues whilst they await access to their counselling.  Lastly, by better understanding their disorder or depressive feelings, these courses may help teach them practical ways of how they can manage their mental health issues.

Healthcare Initiatives:

Engaging with our local politicians and hose with positions of power within the Isle of Man Health Service  namely Manx Care. Together with our growing ManxPACT Community we hope to help connect both parties to increase a better understanding of the needs and requirements of Service Users who currently suffer from mental ill health.

Businesses Initiatives:

We will soon be launching our most ambitions plans yet, namely a programme to help businesses with the Staffing and Mental Health in the workplace.  Check out NEW support pages to be added soon, which will give you a fuller picture of our plans.

We are current putting together a panel of Experts who going forward will be able to advise and work with you and your business.

Some of areas we will be able to assist you with are:

  • Advertising your events

  • Staff Wellbeing

  • Mental Health in your workplace

  • Environmental, Social, and Governance

  • Accreditation

  • Sponsorship

Social Outreach:

We will be reaching out to, and liaising with, other Islandwide charities, support groups and businesses entities to increase awareness of mental health on the Isle of Man.  As People Actioning Change Together we all can help make a difference in our Island community.
